Bahia Esmeralda Hotel is in Playa Potrero, a small charming, Costa Rican beach town where, along with access to many fine beaches, we also have a number of quality restaurants and fun bars for your enjoyment.
Local Restaurants
One of our favorite restaurants, when our chef is taking a night off, is La Forketta Italian Cuisine, serving outstanding meals just one kilometer from Hotel Bahia Esmeralda. A local favorite with excellent food, great bruschetta and pasta dishes. Vegetarians welcome.
Snuggled just a few blocks from the hotel is Las Brisas located right on edge of the sand in Potrero Beach. Meals are served for lunch and dinner. On Wednesday come and enjoy Ladies Night, where women drink for free until 10 pm. Sundays live music and sometimes spontaneous jamming.
A bit farther away by vehicle we recommend Patagonia del Mar Sushi, seafood and steak restaurant serving three meals a day for hearty eaters. Check out there extensive wine and liquor menu. Just a mere 8 kilometers from Bahia Esmeralda, in the town of Brasalito.
Also nearby is The Shack, a friendly sport bar restaurant serving food all day long, has live music on Wednesday and Sundays, is about one kilometer away. Take out is optional.
Hemingways Costa Rica Beachfront Bar and restaurant serves lunch and dinner, with regular live music events, and is within walking distance.
Local Beaches
Playa Flamingo is right next door as is the gorgeous Playa Penca. A few kilometers away is the most beautiful beach in all of Costa Rica for its cristal clear waters and fine white sand, Playa Conchal.
And don’t miss Playa Tamarindo if you like to party, dine or surf, which is right next door to the famous playa Grande where you will find an excellent 18 hole golf course.
