Are pets allowed at the hotel?
Pets are not allowed. No exceptions.
To maintain comfort, cleanliness, and the tranquility of all guests, our hotel is a pet-free property.
Is there a shuttle service to nearby attractions?
Yes, we offer a shuttle service to local attractions, including the beach and popular dining spots. Also taxis, buses, and Uber services are available.
What is the cancellation policy?
Reservations canceled between 16 or more days before the date of your arrival will be charged 50% of the total of your reservation, or the prepaid deposit.
Reservations canceled 15 days or less before arrival, no-show or early departure incur a 100% cancellation penalty (all nights charged including tax).
What amenities are included ?
All our rooms come equipped with complimentary Wi-Fi, air conditioning, private bathroom with hot water, ceiling fans, Digital TV, hair dryer, towels, linens and amenities.
Suites and villas include additional space, kitchen or kitchenette, and terrace or patio areas, depending on the unit.
Do you have promotions?
Yes, we have seasonal packages and discounts for extended stays. Please ask us for a list of our current promotions.
What are the check-in and check-out times?
Check-in is at 2 PM and check-out is at 11 AM. Early arrival to access the gardens and pool area is charged at $20 / person. Room access is only avalable after 2 PM when we have completed a thorough cleaning and prep of the room.
Staying after check out to utilize the grounds and swimming pool, but not the room is charged at $20 / person as well.

Hotel Bahia Esmeralda is located in the quaint coastal town Playa Potrero in Guanacaste not far from Playa Flamingo, Playa Conchal and only 45 to 60 minutes to the international airport in Liberia. Complete directions can be found on our Contact Page.
How far is Liberia Airport from the hotel?
Liberia Costa Rica International airport is a 45 to 60 minute drive depending on route taken to Playa Potrero where Hotel Bahia Esmeralda is located.
How can I get from Liberia airport to the hotel?
We can arrange airport pickup and transport to the hotel for you. Also, taxis at the airport are available as well.
How much does a room cost per night?
We have a large range in room prices. Our economy rooms start at around $100 / night for two people. Our largest family rooms, house sized with multiple bedrooms cost as much as $390 / night for 7 people. We often run special discounts. Contact us and request a discount code when available.
Does the hotel have a restaurant?
Yes, Hotel Bahia Esmeralda has an excellent restaurant open 7 days a week serving breakfast lunch and dinner with high quality international and tropical meals.
nDuring the green season we are open every day for breakfast only.
What activities are available in the area?

Does the hotel have a swimming pool?
Yes we have a wonderful swimming pool in the midst of our lovely gardens.

Is a car recommended to explore Costa Rica.
Yes, a car is a great idea for the freedom it gives. Four wheel drive is recommended. We can arrange a car rental for you at special discounts for hotel guests. We can also arrange a driver and private vehicle to take you anywhere.

Yes. A few charging stations are available in the area. The nearest charging station is five minutes away in Playa Flamingo.
Is parking available at the hotel?
Yes, we offer free private parking for all guests.
