Please do not use the “Waze” app to get to our facilities, as this app does not work properly in Guanacaste. There are several ways to get to Hotel Bahía Esmeralda, but here we suggest 2 options, which are the most comfortable and safe:

From San José take highway #27 to Caldera, continue on the highway without detouring and follow the signs to Liberia. Follow highway #1 to Limonal (at the La Amistad bridge crossing at the DELTA gas station turn left) taking highway #18, after crossing the La Amistad bridge you reach a T intersection, there turn right towards Nicoya Santa Cruz, highway #21. Follow the signs to Liberia until the Belén crossing and turn left towards Flamingo highway #135. You should reach Huacas continue towards Flamingo, shortly before reaching Flamingo (National Bank Agency) there is a sign that indicates towards Potrero. Turn right, travel about 4 km. Follow the signs that say POTRERO. When you reach a T, you will find a strong terracotta-colored wall that says Hotel Villas Bahía Esmeralda. At this point you will have reached the hotel.

You can also go straight from Limonal to Liberia and from there drive towards Filadelfia, when you get to Belén you will find a crossroads with many signs indicating towards Tamarindo, Flamingo, Conchal and Playa Potrero. Turn right and continue. After 20 minutes you will reach a town called Huacas, go straight and take your right at the intersection (there are 2 intersections, the first one only has a left turn, the second one only a right turn, so we are referring to the latter). After 5 minutes you will reach a town called Brasilito. Go straight using the paved road. After 5 minutes on the right you will see a paved road, take it. In Potrero, after 5 minutes you will see the restaurant El Castillo. There turn right, continue for 200 meters until you reach the bar La Perla, there turn left. Go straight and reach the terracotta colored wall of the Hotel Bahía Esmeralda.
